Low performance with 6900xt?

Re
12

I sold my old PC in November and put together an approx. 700 euro PC. This contained a ryzen 7 2700x and a 1080 ti.

The whole thing went great and I was satisfied, but I noticed that the graphics card had more than doubled in value. So I sold it and bought a new 3060 ti for 50 euro more. This went on until I got a 6900xt a few weeks ago.

I've never had an rx GPU before, so the drivers are unknown to me and I didn't see my FPS. I didn't benchmark it immediately and didn't test it, but instead downloaded a shader after a week in Minecraft and looked at the fps.

With shaders and texturepack at 12 chunks 30 fps. I was irritated and then turned off optifine and tried everything, but never got over 300 fps.

The day before I assembled a PC with a 3060 for a friend and everything went a lot better for him with the same settings.

I checked the utilization and the gpu was 30% and the cpu was 20%.

Then I turned on Forza horizon 4 and looked directly at the load. GPU 99% CPU 45% and it ran at 140 fps. I was happy with that and just blamed the previous problem on Minecraft. But then I turned on Battlefield 1 yesterday and the whole thing ran at 79fps.

I really have no idea how to fix the problem, so I'm asking for suggestions here.

I'm also thinking about maybe upgrading to a 5800x.

System:

Mainboard: Asus B450 F Gaming 2

CPU: Ryzen 7 2700x

GPU: Rx 6900xt reference

Ram: crucial ballistix 16 3200mhz cl 16 (dual channel)

Power supply: Aerocool lux 850m rgb

Just set up a new pc and then look at YouTube tutorials what you should best set in the graphics card driver.

Maybe you download the first driver for the 6900 release. Otherwise, try the latest, the Radeon software offers that no different than the GEforce experience

Re

Setting up again will be difficult. Because 4tb full of data and well… Slow internet.

Re

Should you delete all graphics drivers again for this?

Un

Yes, always do a clean install

Re

Where can I find the driver best? (As I said, I have absolutely no idea about radeon drivers)

Un

Try the Auto detect and install tool here https://www.amd.com/...rx-6900-xt

Re

Alright thanks. I'll do it tomorrow 🥱

Un

Jo, I wish you a good night. I think I'll lie down too

Re

Thank you, too, and a good idea

So I'm in bed on my mobile phone, if it doesn't work or you have another question, I have a rx 5600 xt myself

Re

Super I remember
