Minecraft server for windows 10 edition?

My children are currently a bit bored and therefore play Minecraft on the side. Both via the Windows 10 Edition (it only costs a few EUR), now a few school colleagues want to play with them. So just get a cheap Minecraft Game Server. Unfortunately, they can't connect despite the correct IP and correct port.

Lt. Providers can't rent Minecraft servers that work from Windows 10 Edition. When I google, I find this statement often, but always years old.

Has nothing really happened here yet? Do I really have to buy the more expensive JAVA Edition for something like this? Or are there other providers who offer something like that?

As a temporary solution, one PC is now hosting the world and the others are connecting as friends. Unfortunately, sometimes something is lost here, if it does not end correctly, so I wanted to use a cheap game server.

You have probably rented a Java Edition server. The Windows 10 version is the Bedrock Edition. So you have to rent a Bedrock Edition server. Most providers also offer.

Ok thanks, that helps me a lot. The provider thinks there's no version for the Windows 10 Edition and I have to switch to minecraft Java.

With there's not, he probably does not mean with him:-)
