Hello dear question-asking community!
I've been the proud owner of a Minecraft server for years. The only problem is that my hoster (Host-Unlimited) is constantly making mistakes. By that I mean high ping and the server crashes constantly. The reasons are inexplicable. But now I have seen a new hoster with a more practical offer.
By practical I mean that it is not a minecraft server, but a root server. On this I can also install Minecraft, Teamspeak, website and a php forum. Now I want to ask you if the offer is good / enough for a public server. Btw I do not want to make a BungeeCord server, just a 4-world spigot server. Hardware:
Old hoster:
- Minecraft server
- 20GB Ram
- 4-6 CPUCores (is not exactly there)
- 1000Mb traffic (allegedly)
- 20GB SSD
- Price: 9.95 / month (my maximum allowance)
Other hoster:
- Root server
- 10Gb Ram
- 2 CPU cores
- 10GB SSD
- Price: 9.95 / month
Is the change worthwhile and would the root server grab my plans?
You effectively get much less hardware for the same money. Whether you get along with 10GB RAM, for example, you have to know.
