Minecraft singleplayer worlds back to old version?

I used in a Minecraft single player world with Forge worldeddit on Minecraft version 1.10.2 and later wanted to transfer this world to 1.8.8. (Once you can go down one version without losing your game status)

Now Worldeddit no longer works or when Minecraft starts if Worldeddit for 1.10.2 is in the mods folder, Minecraft crashes. 1. Does anyone know the solution for this?

Or whether I can continue to work with Worldeddit on the world I can go to 1.12.2 and somehow get back to 1.8.8 without losing the game.

Why don't you just use Worldedit for 1.8.8? That would make it a lot easier

Can you take a screenshot of your mods folder and what version of Forge are you using?

Empty your mods folder, just add Worldedit for 1.8.8 and start with Forge for 1.8.8

I use the forge versions: release 1.8.8-forge1.8.8-11.15.0.1655

For the 1.10.2 the: release 1.10.2-forge1.10.2-12.18.3.2511
