Minecraft world edit: After copying something, can I change the map and then paste it again?

I and a few colleagues have just discovered Minecraft for us again. Unfortunately we had a 1.8.9 version on a server, now we want the latest version. We just don't want to start all over again.

So here is the question. For example, if I copy my house on the old map, can I paste it into the new map if it's the same server? (In between would be the server changeover)

Or is there another way to copy the houses and paste them into the new world? Vl in single player or something? And then just upload the map?

You can save a copied area in WorldEdit as a schematic file, which you can then paste into the other world.

You can find commands here:

Thank you for your quick reply.

Can I do this in single player? Because I have no access to the files themselves… A colleague of mine hosts this via one of his pcs and would be grateful if he only got a finished world.

an

With the Schematica Mod you can save parts of the map as a schematic without having access to the server files.

Then it is best to create a server with Worldedit on your PC and insert it on the map. Inserting the whole thing into single player is a bit complicated - and I don't even know if Worldedit is already available as a mod for single player in 1.15.

And I don't think it would be too much for your colleagues to pack the Schematica folder and send it to you by Discord. Takes vlt. One minute.

But yes, I already told you the solution without having to bend your finger. Schematica mod.

Ch

Yes. As long as it is the same server, it should work.

Thank you very much, I'll give it a try
