Gambling on SSD on the way possible?

I have in mind to buy a 240gb SSD and to connect via SATA → USB3 converter to my notebook to install games on it. Is that possible? That the games then bring no loss of performance?

Or is an external HDD USB3 1TB enough for gaming?

What would be the difference if I had to compare both, then in terms of load times and frames?

I'm thinking of games like Minecraft, Call of Duty Black Ops 3, Rocket League, GTA V and Insurgency and eventually the simulator Titanoc Honor and Glory, which I'm so eagerly waiting for.

I also have a game (Euro Truck Simulator 2) on a USB stick with 10 MB / s transfer rate and it runs flawlessly with maximum textures! But an SSD will definitely be faster than a HDD, also via USB 3.1 Gen 1, which I would always prefer

The performance of the game is primarily dependent on the CPU and the GPU, an SSD accelerates the booting of windows and the load of all programs enormously, but on the current application has little influence.

you should also remember that gambling on a notebook is always a compromise, as the things for mobile and energy-saving work and not for "full throttle" applications were built, which are not even served in the measure of the mickrigen energy supply, as it in the pc is the order of the day.

you can z.b. Having a children's bike is definitely part of the tour de france, but…

The comparison in the end I liked mi Lord!

An SSD has almost no influence on the FPS. As for loading times, the biggest advantage of an SSD is not the burst transfer rate, but the low access times.

USB is queued by the CPU, because the low latencies bring nothing, you can use an external HDD just as well.

The advantage of an external SSD is actually only if you can use the higher sequential write speeds, e.g. When rendering videos or similar In addition, they consume less power, which is just when using on a laptop e.g. Practically.

The comparison in the end was funny, yes ich So I have a gaming notebook GTX 1060, which stores games so far on the internal HDD (2nd hard drive). However, I would like to relocate these games externally so that I have a unified storage medium for my notebook AND my gaming stand PC on which I play exactly the same games. Furthermore, I do not need to download the same games for hours on both computers on my 16k Internet line. My notebook has to run for more than 2 days to have the four games installed 😎 Modern exhaustion. (Irony)
