I have Minecraft Java Edition, but would I play with my friends playing on the console so if I get Windows 10 Edition, can I still play on Java Edition?

Have the status of the Java edition on the Windows 10 edition, or do you mean that you can play both programs at the same time?

Of course you can. The Windows 10 Edition would have to run through the Windows or Microsoft Store. The Java Edition is their very own game
