Minecraft builder?

My farmers don't plant anything. I put a composter down for them to look at, tossed seeds, and there are enough beds in the village. What am I doing wrong?

Try to sleep if it's night or wait a little longer

Try to plant the bed yourself. When it is "ripe" the farmers dismantle it and replant it.
