If so, I would recommend that you put all your worlds and important data on a USB stick or in a backup folder and completely reinstall Minecraft.
In my experience, the fact that you once installed a client could lead to the launcher being locked. As mentioned above, this happened to me with the mcleaks authentificator. However, it was around 2 years ago, so I can't help you on this point.
