Java (Optifine, etc.) not working?

I bought a PC a little while ago and wanted to download Java or Optifine for Minecraft. When I downloaded Java I wanted to download optifne. When I wanted to start it, it didn't work, a window opened for a fraction of a second and then closed again. I've looked at a lot of tutorials to make it "normal" but I haven't found anything. Could someone help me?

Enter the following in the console to check whether Java is already installed correctly:

java version

If so, then maybe try. Simply with an older Java version. Minecraft (probably also the Optifine installer) runs with Java 8.
