Hi, I wanted to ask if I can use an Xbox to play Minecraft with my friends who are playing on a Ps4.

Yes, if you have added yourself as Microsoft three, it should work if both have xbox live / psolus but have no idea how to add yourself as a friend

Yes, that works, you only have to both have an XBox / Microsoft account and a fee-based membership in the respective console
