Xbox one or ps4? Decision support?

Yes, yes I know, there are questions that you do not ask and I was told this question is part of it 😂

For Christmas and birthday, I would like to give my husband one of the two consoles, so that he can gamble something from the couch. We're otherwise pure PC people, but have no time for the PCs. We do not really have a favorite either.

Now I'm staggering between the xbox one S 1 TB minecraft Edition or the Ps4 Slim 500gb. Both priced currently available for 250 euro.

Basically minecraft to play on it would be great, but that goes as far as I know on both devices. Spyro Is synonymous for both devices, otherwise I've looked at both of the games contingent and it pretty much. We're not shooter fans, rather strategy or jump & run players.

How do I decide now? What should I pay particular attention to?

With the xbox minecraft design appeals to me and the 1tb, as well as the backward compatibility.

Maybe someone has some useful details or can make the decision easier for me. A 4k and a fullhd television are available…

The biggest difference is probably that the performance of the XBox is significantly behind the PS4. Not extreme, but so that you would see a difference in direct comparison. In addition, the community on PS4 is about twice as large (in Europe even around 4x).

Advantages of the XBox are, of course, the backwards compatibility (if 360 games are to be played) and the price.

With the exclusive titles the PS4 is clearly ahead, only with car racing games the XBox surely has the better offer. Sony has for games with really great stories, also much in the direction Adventure.

Fo

Yes, that was synonymous with the performance in my head. Hmm difficult

So basically you do not do anything wrong with either PS4 or Xbox One, both are solid consoles, if you're into jump 'n' run games you can theoretically take another look at the Nintendo Switch on both the TV and the PC handheld mobile can make a pretty good figure.

But good, back to your question whether PS4 or Xbox One, a pity that you have missed the Black Friday, there was the Xbox One S and the PS4 Slim for around 170 euro. For the larger models, so the Xbox One X and PS4 Pro also cheaper accordingly, since the new games are optimized for the larger models, they run partly on the smaller not so smooth.

With Minecraft on Xbox and PS4 you have to be careful when you come from the PC, on the PC you probably play the Java Edition, on the consoles it is the Bedrock Edition, so many of the well-known and big and popular City Build servers are not from the consoles to reach out.

Whether you better get a PS4 or an Xbox One S depends on which console is more popular with your circle of friends and where you like the exclusive games better (95% of the games are on both, but 5% are exclusive to one or the other). From the graphics, the two are relatively the same rum with a small advantage for the PS4. If you stay with the small consoles, the Xbox One S would have the advantage that here UHD Blue Rays, Netflix and can be played in 4K, but do not play. If you want to play in 4K you should grab the Xbox One X or PS4 Pro, in the latter you can also with the optional VR set, some games in VR games, here is then as Jump n Run the game Astro Bot very impressive, but then come through the VR kit even higher costs to one.

For both consoles you should set the memory to 1TB, you get too hard on memory problems, meanwhile I have to buy external hard drives for each console as the games get bigger and bigger, so for example the memory needs red dead redemption 2 over 100GB.

Due to the greater popularity of the PS4 here in Europe, the used games market is also cheaper, which makes it possible to do some bargains from time to time.

Thank you. Yes, unfortunately I was in the hospital on the Black Friday weekend without internet and Ausgang.sonst I would have ordered them then, but this clinic is a bunker in terms of reception. 😔 Circle of friends falls away with us in terms of console. All PC players. 😅

au

Oh well then I hope that you have survived your hospital stay well. I would recommend that if possible you look around a bit again, usually come from the beginning of December again some Christmas offers on the market, there's the probability of gaming consoles already quite large that there are again discounts where you then NEN cheaper way than the normal price.

Fo

Phew it's really hard. 😅 I read and read and ultimately I always find pros and contras. For the xbox speaks the price and the optics, as well as the storage space. For the Ps4 speaks, the better processor and one or the other game which I do not find for the xbox. External hard drives are not the problem for us, my husband is a computer scientist who has more hard drives than clothes ^^. At rebuy I find for both priced good used games, for Ps4 something cheaper, that's right. Basically, it speaks more for the Ps4 with ner hard drive turn off than for the xbox. Hmm

The decision between the consoles you can't lose in itself, Final you have to make the decision yourself.

I myself have neither the PS4 Slim nor the XBox One S, I had the original versions of both consoles and now the PS4 Pro and the XBox OneX, which are comparable in terms of games and only in better resolution, more frames and more detail different from the small versions.

In general, it is so much more on the PS4 games than on the XBox One, which is mainly due to the me personally more pleasant usability and the more exciting for myself exclusive title. In the XBox OneX I find the controller a bit better (especially the Elite Controller) and the possibility of the UHD BlueRay discs, which I do not really use, as well as the ability to play 360 games on it, even if I have a few of them have. When I look at the game times of the various consoles over the past 3 months, the switch is in first place, closely followed by the PS4 Pro and then slightly knocked off the XBox OneX. In the end I can only say that you can have fun with any console, I would recommend to you, just go to a larger electronics store and take the controller in the hand and look there once the operation of the consoles and decide then you just relaxed there on site, with none of the consoles you make under the dash something wrong.

I personally can recommend the Xbox One. - If your friend, or some of your loved ones, likes old games, the Xbox One is just right. The console is backwards compatible, and selected games from the very old Xbox and Xbox 360 are playable on the Xbox One. On Playstation this is only partially available, because old games of the PS2 and PS3 are only Streamed, (such as Netflix and co.) Or Can be downloaded, and must be checked every 24 hours via the Internet. Because the service Playstation Now, is charged and has to be paid monthly. An old Xbox game, however, only cost between 10 and a maximum of 15 euro, and is forever your own.

Second, because of the price, compared to the store. At the same price of both consoles, the memory of the Xbox is twice as big as that of the PS4 so cheaper (since almost all Next Gen games on both platforms are just as big.)

Third, the resolution. The Xbox One S is practically the less powerful version of the PS4 Pro. Because the One S offers upscaled 4K quality (so like the PS4 Pro, upscaled is not really real 4K) and has HDR. (if I have the PS4 Slim HDR, I prefer it, I do not want to spread any misinformation)

And again for backward compatibility: with an Active Gold / Plus membership, 2 games are free per platform. - The problem, however, in both systems, the games are temporarily blocked after 24 hours without Internet, or after the expiration of membership. - Until you sign up for a short time, or buy the membership. With xbox, however, the advantage is that the Xbox 360 console still gets free games, and in the Games with gold promotion, the selected 360 games are also playable on the One. So the first advantage is that the Xbox One offers 4 free games, compared to the PS4 only 2, and that the xbox 360 games that you get during the free phase also remain in your possession, compared to the Xbox One games only Borrowing belong to you.

The latter is the Generation 2 controller of the Xbox One (recognizes at the bottom, if.man sees a jack connection) almost everywhere devices Compatible. It can be connected to smartphones via Bluetooth, or connected to the PC with a Simplen Micro USB cable. Incidentally, it has a battery compartment, which, however, can be exchanged for rechargeable batteries. - Without joke: I own a Sony Xperia XA1, and it can't connect to a PS4 controller, BUT s.ein Xbox One controller… Karma, really bad karma…

I also have an Xbox One S in white, and I'm pretty happy. However, you need an Internet connection for many functions (eg change background image)

Fo

Thank you. Yesterday it was also the xbox one S.
