Minecraft Splittscreen, under water Brightness Different?

So I play with a buddy grade Minecraft on the One. I can see underwater really well and far, but this looks completely different with my buddy.

As soon as he goes into the water, he just looks garnix felt like that and although the settings are the same.

Does anyone have a plan on which this can lie?

Either the water is deeper or you have a night vision drank inside. But it can also be due to different biomen.

Everything you have written is not the case. We're in the same biome at the same height, in the picture I'm even lower and night vision potion I do not have.
