Why do I only have 5-10 fps in Minecraft with shaders?

Da
10

My computer is nowhere near busy, but with shaders I only have 5-10 FPS. I've already tried several, but none of them get me over 10 fps. I read in forums that other people probably feel the same way. Does anyone know why that is?

What should! Can you read from this information?

We don't know what kind of CPU you have or what kind of GraKa, that's information that you need and not this screenshot…

Da

You should now be able to see them

ta

It's because of the CPU, it's a notebook CPU and I'm assuming you have a notebook too, right? Therefore the GPU is clocked less than the "real" 1650.

What are the FPS without a shader?

Da

Yes it is a notebook. Without a shader, I have around 90-100 FPS

ta

Then the graphics chip can't keep up.

Da

All right, thank you

Da

I just noticed that Minecraft is using the pre-installed GPU, a UHD Graphics 630, instead of my GTX 1650. Can I change that somehow?

ta

Open NVidia Control Panel → right mouse button on the desktop and then it should be in the context menu

Then on the left in the list on Manage 3D Settings, there you can now select which graphics card should be used when. You can set the NVidia card to be used permanently or only in certain programs.

Da

Got it. I now have 300-400 FPS without a shader and with around 100 FPS.

ta

Great ;-)
