Why do I only have 50 fps in Minecraft?

I recently put together a new gaming computer and am actually very satisfied with the price-performance.

My components:

CPU: Amd Ryzen 5 2600X

Ram: Ballistix Tactical 2x8 (16Gb)

Graka: Geforce 9500 GT DDR2

Mainboard: Asrock B450 Steel Legend

Monitor: Samsung C24F396FHU Curved

Unfortunately there's a small problem. In Minecraft I only have an average of 50 fps on normal settings (no shader) (no mods) (only Optifine 1.16.2) I made all available updates for all components and did not make any bios or overclocking settings. But why did I do something wrong with really good components (except for graphics cards) only 50 fps in Minecraft. Thanks in advance for any answer.

I guess it's the graphics card. The GT range is just not suitable for gaming, and it's very old.

No

Vll ingame set the refresh rate to 50 fps?

Er

You did something wrong by using an absolutely subterranean graphics card from 2008, which was probably intended for office use at the time. I'm surprised that Minecraft is running quite acceptable on them, but I suspect that this is due to Optifine.

So you have no choice but to buy a new graphics card, you can't do much with the current one and the remaining components are completely oversized for it.

pa

Thank you for your answer. You're right, the graphics card is very old, but unfortunately my GTX 1660 Super has not yet arrived and because you need a graphics card with the Amd Ryzen X, I took an old one from the attic but do you think it's really all down to the graphics card, especially my very old PC had an Intel Core 2 Duo and only 4 Gb with the graphics card and I still had more fps than now with this system, which is very unusual.

Fa

You should definitely upgrade your graphics card.

pa

That's a good objection, but I made it to Maximum Fps so that doesn't explain it. But thanks for your help.

pa

Do you think that is only due to the graphics card if so, I'm relieved to think that I did something wrong when installing a component.

Fa

100% on the components, it is not the graphics card is just ancient.

pa

Okay, I'm relieved that it's because of the graphics card. Was that aimed at the graphics card over-dimensioned?

pa

Oke thanks for your answer then I have to change that.

to

Yes, the rest of the system is actually pretty good. Nothing for high end gaming, but that's enough for Minecraft.

Your components probably don't harmonize so well because of the huge age difference.

pa

What could I improve on. So I would have more fps with another one. (Gtx 1660 Super)

to

With the GTX, Minecraft and most other games will run smoothly at 60 FPS even with high resolution and graphic details.

Addendum: only Minecraft will not run at 60fps if you install mods or shaders on it, because the Minecraft engine can't handle it.

pa

Oke that's good to know how should I update the next maybe an Amd 3600 and then an even bigger graphics card?

to

The Ryzen 5 3600 would definitely be a worthwhile investment. With the graphics card, you will get by for now. If you want to upgrade it at some point, I recommend a graphics card from the RTX series, or if you can still find a GTX 980 or 970 somewhere cheaply, they are older but quite powerful.

But please only buy new graphics cards, especially older ones, otherwise they will not last long and they may already be damaged.

Er

No, the rest of your components are way too powerful for the graphics card

pa

Ahh Oke that's bad of course, but then I have to change that. Unfortunately Grakas and so are currently very, very expensive.

Er

Yes, wait until the situation has calmed down a bit and then buy an Rtx 3060ti or Rx 6800 or something, but if you just want to play Minecraft, cheaper cards would do the same

Gu

I could get a 60 fps with integrated grahpics. You may just need to uncap the fps or adjust the maximum fps to about 200
