With which programs can you design logos?

I have a clan in Minecraft and would like to create an appealing logo. Which programs (free) are suitable for this?

Logos should be created as vector graphics. For example with Inkscape or Illustrator.

I would enter Google Gamer templates or logo template in your place. You buy that and change the name in it. That was at least when I did that at that time still Gang and Gäbe. Without experience you will not be able to design your own good logo and the 10 euro logos will be enough for you.

Maybe first pencil and paper.

Free software e.g. Gimp, evt. Mal also search for browser-based solutions (browser based design tool)

Vector not necessary for the time being. If it's going to be a clan logo for a game, it certainly will not go into any kind of professional printing.
