Minecraft PE with XBox controller on the TV?

I just wanted to play Minecraft on a big TV,

and I do not care about the performance.

So I want to buy an XBox one controller and play with sync screen synchronization (spelling RIP) on the TV.

What do you think of my idea?

If you can connect the controller to the phone, and you do not care about the performance, that should not be a problem.
