Mcp918 says that the JSON file was not found what should I do?

I downloaded mcp918 on Linux Ubuntu and ran it from the terminal. When I run it it says that the 1.8.8 Json file was not found although I have it in the .minecraft folder. I deleted the 1.8.8 folder, restarted always the same error. Can anyone help me?
