I'm currently trying to pixel my own Minecraft texture pack, but it failed because I can't open a .json file. I checked the internet and looked for a tutorial, but unfortunately I couldn't find anything. Is there a program that can convert a .json file into a .png file? Or is there a default Minecraft resource pack which is downloaded directly as a png?
A .json file is not a .png file.
You can open the .json file with Notepad or any other text editor.
So I would like to change the texture, but that is not possible with a .json
What kind of texture do you want to change?

The .json file is not used for this. The textures should all be in the folder / ZIP archive of the pack.
You have probably ended up in the wrong folder. The .png files are located under./minecraft/textures.
to edit those you need block bench
