Minecraft Nether portals link / do not connect?

Have 2 nether portals in the ow, one of which is linked to one in the nether. I wanted to build a new one in the ow, not far from the other in the ov, the two are 34 blocks apart. Now the problem is that the new one in the ow doesn't want to link to the one in the Nether. When I go to the new in the Nether, I get out of the old in the ow.

Build a second portal in the Nether at the appropriate location.

Divide x and z coordinates of the Overworld portal by 8, the portal in the Nether has to go to this position. These portals are then perfectly linked.

You do that for each portal.

gl

34 blocks apart is too much. The portals are never connected when they are that far away.

De

No, you don't quite understand. The 2 portals in overworld are 34 blocks apart. One is already linked, the other is not.

De

I know, but that's not possible.

an

Why is that not possible? Of course it works.

Did you do that for both portals? Not just for one. You have to do this for everyone. If so, check whether you have miscalculated.

De

With one it worked, with another portal in ther overworld it just doesn't work. I thought it didn't work because one was too close to the other.

an

No, it can't be because they are too close. A distance of 34 blocks is also 4 blocks apart in the Nether.

Did you correctly calculate the coordinates of the one? It could be that you miscalculated and it is simply linked to one another by chance.

De

I have checked both of them several times, divisions by 8 are not difficult, especially if you use a calculator.

an

Because just move the portal you don't want to be sent to by a few blocks from the other. Maybe then it goes.
