Why is so little work in Minecraft updates?

Have just seen the new Netherupdate (1.16) and I'm very disappointed.

Since even modders give more effort

As

Most people put more energy in their hobbies than in their job.

Minecraft is already quite old now.

Therefore, modders spend more effort than companies.

To

But you can expect more than 2 new mods and 5 blocks from a whole company and just because it's old does not mean anything, there are a lot of "old" games that bring out huge updates

Modders do not have to make sure that it works for you. Therefore, modders can pack as much garbage in their mods as they want. Mojang has to work so that new content works well for most players. And fixxen bugs. But that does not matter to a modder. If his mod does not work for you, that's your problem.

Presumably, those ideas are too. There have been many great updates on Minecraft. Maybe they are exhausted, have no ideas or can't implement them.

Yikes

To

Well that's true again, but even there you should expect more

The developers of Mojang also take a lot of time.

The updates work for just about everyone.

Moddern can't care…

In addition, modders try / need to build almost no hype and are therefore also sometimes faster

And the majority of the games are experiencing no support at all for the first 12, often even 6 months, even if problems have been long-known and features have been pushed full-blown shortly before release. The fact that a game is still supplied with content updates after 10 years is a novelty that is second to none. The titles that do this without you regularly want to ask new to checkout you can effectively count on one hand. There's no obligation from the time in which the product is in the store more such overtime. And what great work out if there's an active modding community that is happy to generate content?

To

There's still so much to add and it is also desired by many players a Cave update

There are 5 people working on Minecraft. The department is not big. Everything else is PR and marketing.

They develop much more, even in the background. Modders have much more time, modders can do what they want with the game, but Mojang does not want to and should not completely change it. The new version has to work stable (…).

It's not just a question of what they can do, but what they can do without angering the community.
