Minecraft - When is something a bug?

If I exploit a maximum limit, is that bug-using? Because something is wanted and not a bug, right?

Example:

A chunk has a limit of 1 MB. So if I do a lot of books in boxes of this chunk, surpassing the 1MB, then the chunk will be reset to a state where the books were not there yet, as an overflow is triggered. Thus one can dupen blocks.

Or mobs, for example, who also have a maximum limit. So when I accumulate this number of mobs, no new mobs spawn anymore.

Or block updates, which also have a maximum limit. If I mine sand under a cactus with 3000 signs hanging on it, then the cactus will not be updated and will float, because there can only be 2000 updates at a time, and the updates will all be used for the signs.

The question is: is this really a bug? Because such a maximum limit is yes wanted, or not? Or is that an overflow? Is this a bug, is not it?

When is something a bug?

Would like to make floating cacti, but not be gebantn for "bug-using".

Is not a bug in my view. The developers just did not think about that at the time.

Th

I would say that is not a bug. But explain that to a server owner… Most just think, "Oh, a flying cactus… BAN!"

Sn

I say so, even if it was not a bug by definition I would ban you for it. I do not need another reason on my server.

Blocks Dupen, no matter how is always a spell reason. Just as with the mob cap, the moment you influence the game the other negative is a spell reason.

The nonsense you can do in single player or on your server but not on public servers where you disturb others.
