I have not been using Minecraft for years (because that's too childish), Can I reinstall the .minecraft folder into a different hard drive (without it being in the% appdata% folder), without creating a new folder, or that Errors occur.
Reason: I want to save space in my hard drive (SSD).
I do not play Minecraft anymore, only if a friend wants it.
You should be able to move it anywhere. So that Minecraft respects the new path also at the start, you should the Minecraft.exe with the call parameter
--workDir = "path \ \ to \ new location"
start.
So what should I do exactly?
Exactly what I wrote.
You can move the Minecraft folder as you like, but at the start of the game you have to pass the new path as start parameter.
For example In a link, or when called via the CMD.
Ok… I'll try it.
The whole thing should be available as a setting for your profile in the launcher
I just saw it.
I thought so synonymous grad XD
You think Minecraft is childish but you play Fortnite.
Thanks for the answer! Really solved my problem.
Somehow, a new folder opens up.
