Please only with reasons
Both. This is microsoft, they can get updates for both.
I think both will continue to be updated, java will continue to prevail on the pc, bedrock on the other platforms.
I see it differently, I see the Minecraft future in Bedrock and not in Java
Minecraft Java still uses Java 8 (now Java 14)
Java 8 is an LTS (long term support) version. Java 8 will be supported and updated until 2022 (although you can pay even longer for extended support).
Java 14 will only get support until the end of this year (namely until the release of java 15)
In 2021, java 14 is already out of date, but java 8 is not.
JAVA 8, 11 and soon 17 are LTS versions.
Could imagine upgrading to java 17 with the end of regular supports for java 8.
Java is the same, java 17 should support java 8 as much as possible. Oracle makes a lot of effort that old code works in new versions.
I tend to see them switching to Bedrock
https://www.oracle.com/...admap.html until 2030 you can get support with java 8. With java 11 (ie the other LTS version currently) also only until 2026. The versions without LTS much shorter anyway.
Java 8 is currently the version of Java that has received support and updates the longest. So not out of date.
I absolutely don't see it that way.
The majority of players are on the Java Edition and will stay there. Crossplay nice and good, but the Java Edition runs on any cheap computer, the Bedrock Edition doesn't.
Support has already been discontinued for the old consoles, Crossplay with Xbox 360, PS3, PSVita, 3DS does not exist, although it would certainly be feasible.
Apart from crossplay, which would also be feasible with Java, the modding community is simply gigantic and will therefore continue to let Java Edition live, even if official support should ever be discontinued.
If Microsoft ends support for the Bedrock Edition at some point, which will surely happen, then that's it with everything you have to buy. The Java Edition will continue to exist and will be maintained by the community.
See it the other way round, find that Java will be replaced by Bedrock and will eventually no longer have any players
I agree with your Java explanation, but not with your Minecraft Java Edition explanation, continue to see Bedrock as the future Minecraft
You are welcome to see it like this. There are no clues why this should be so. On the contrary, most players play multiplayer, but with the Bedrock Edition it is quite complex and public servers are almost non-existent. A lot of players who have already put a lot of time and money into servers will hardly have any incentive to switch to the Bedrock Edition.
May I show you a few arguments that speak for the Bedrock Edition.
I already wrote another answer to this question, arguments for Bedrock
Then don't stop.
If you only have to search for the comment, you will surely not write a similar comment twice under the same question
It's a shame because Java is simply better, but JAVA is slowly becoming a bedrock
Best answer to my question, because good reasoning, the others were all only half reasoned or only with my own opinion
Do you mean the Compat Update?
Why is Java actually better?
, because you can do more nonsense with the Java (mods & etc.) and it is the future of Minecraft, because even the current flagship models from Apple, Samsung & etc. Do not achieve the performance of an entry-level computer, which is completely for 1080p60 visibility 16 Optifine is enough.
I think the Java edition is the future of minecraft even if you leave out mods, texture packs and shader you can't do as much with the bedrock edition in terms of commands and RedStone and things like texture packs etc. Cost extra money there. In addition, the Java edition is always updated first
As far as I know, at some point both versions should be so similar to each other that it is also possible between Java edition and bedrock edition crossplay
hope that they adapt the bedrock edition to the java edition the gui of the bedrock edition is just terrible because the gui was better with the 4j studios edition
See it the other way around than you do
See it differently, see Bedrock as the future
Until in the bedrock edition you can't use at least all minecraft vanilla features, in my opinion it is inferior to the Java edition
In my opinion you are wrong. But I don't mean to say that you can't be right either
Have you ever played the Bedrock Edition, if not you can't compare it at all?
Java is compatible with all possible mods and thus also Forge, everything is based on the Java programming language, Java is just one of the safest methods as far as mods are concerned, since Java does nothing else than open a virtual machine on the device, which is why Minecraft can also be used add different amounts of RAM. Thanks to the virtual machine, mods can't contain viruses because the Java files can never be opened directly on the computer.
And now again to the main disadvantage of Bedrock, Bedrock is ultimately simply a castrated Java edition in another programming language, this is because Java is not supported by all devices. The other functions have been deleted, because otherwise e.g. Bedrock cell phones would not endure. But Mojang will be everything consistent… A shame actually
I think it's good that it will unify Mojang
