No multiplayer because the server is out of date (minecraft)?

I wanted to play a world this evening with my colleague in the 1. 16 bedrock edition. But when I wanted to join the world there was (with an earth background) "no connection: client out of date!" And my colleague said "server out of date"

Does anyone know how to update the server? Or other reasons
