Got a blank card made of redstone paper and compass picked it up and opened it accordingly (so it builds up) the problem is it was empty and then I opened it there it was completely set up and the player position was not on the map displayed. This is a problem because you can't find your way around. Why is that?
By the way, Minecraft Java Edition is the latest version 1.13.2 if that helps.
Look in the settings. There you can turn player ID on and off. When that is off, you will not see a player on the map.
