I then tried it on Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome, but all browsers said it was dangerous to install MCLeaks. Does anyone know why and whether I can still install it without worrying?

Very unlikely because Firefox is not a virus scanner. At most, there may have been a message regarding an untrustworthy domain or its certificate.

And still no indication of the source… I find the report a bit misleading and doubtful, but that is often the case today because you want to spare the user with details.
