I want to play minecraft with my friend, we don't want to look for slides and we used up the 4 diamonds that we found in a desert temple for swords. Is there any other way to build a portal without breaking down obsidian?
Find a lava lake and then make it with a water bucket obsidian, search for a tutorial on YouTube, there should be numerous.
8 lava buckets (or 10?) And an infinite water source. Search YouTube for "Nether Portal Bucket Method"
If you pour water on lava, obsidian will come out. So just take water and keep placing it in the right place next to lava to form a portal. Speedrunners often use that. Watch a video about it.
Goes quickly and only needs 1-2 buckets and a lighter.
You can also pour water over a lava spring, which then becomes an obsidian block. So you can also create a nether portal.
