Are MBits important for online gaming?

Got 1-5mbits in my room and wanted to know if I could play Minecraft lagg freely with it (bought new PC)

De

That's little, upload it?

I have 200 down, 44 rum upload.

you can play almost everything fast online

Da

The up / download is also relatively important, but the ping is more important for a good gaming experience.

Da

Do you play over Wi-Fi?

hu

Yes

Da

Look for a Wi-Fi repeater. Otherwise I would recommend a lan repeater that you have a lan port on your socket. Is significantly faster.

hu

What are the factors that make the ping good?

Cl

So for comparison, I have 100. Find everything under 30 really bad. But demands are different.

Da

You should avoid Wi-Fi if possible. And otherwise it's just luck, how full the servers are, how many people are with you on the Internet and how close you are to the server.

mi

It depends on some. E.g. Whether LAN or WLAN (LAN is better) and where the server is. You can use your ping e.g. Test on Speedtest.net

hu

It says that I have a 16 ping

Al

The bandwidth that an online game requires varies from game to game.
As a rule, lines with low bandwidth are sufficient, as long as the response time (ping) is good and all relevant data is on the client and not much data has to be reloaded from the server. But that depends on the architecture of the game.
Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi repeater etc. Worsen the ping, because data is lost via the ether and your client or the server has to request this again.

Da

You can test this in the game as follows:

/ ping

definitely goes to gommehd.net

hu

I currently have a laptop I wanted to buy a Lidl PC and really only play MC and only use the 2-4 other apps would it avoid laggs because the PC is not filled?

hu

I know I also have 20ping there but since I'm currently still playing on a laptop and the graphics card (GeForce 650) is not supposed to be the best and the laptop is 10 years old, it could be because it is now and then or not?

Da

Press f3 and see how much FPS you have.

hu

All right… Well, get me a new PC and then I hope it gets better 🤪 since my current one is 10 years old and has a (GeForge T 650) graphics card)

Al

Yes, there's definitely something new that makes sense.
For mod-heavy games like Minecraft, make sure you have enough ram in the new one. The game itself doesn't need a lot of ram. Each mod is loaded 100% into the ram. There 8Gb fill up very quickly. 16 or 32 would be better.

hu

And if I got one with 8Gb, what would that mean for the in-game? Is there the Laggs as mentioned or other things: / just want to be on the safe side

mc

The bandwidth can be important for a classic browser game, since not only are the control commands transmitted, but content must also be loaded from the network.

With installed games, often only location information is synchronized or control commands are transmitted.

Al

If you don't have enough ram, then you shouldn't use so many mods. Otherwise the game could crash.
