How hot is your CPU and GPU playing, it may overheat because I know something that the application then crashes but at your last point I recommend you maybe just once everything important to secure from your. Minecraft folder and then delete it and let the game reinstall again

I did that as well, so I deleted the entire .minecraft folder and reinstalled it
Uninstall Minecraft and then uninstall Windows.
Then reboot the computer - insert Windows XP CD and then everything should work again! LG
