I wanted to install optifine but have some problems with it because I'm relatively new to something like that…
So at first the file "Optifine 1.16.5" looked like a text document. I was able to fix this and now it has the correct icon.
Then I watched a couple of yt videos and it didn't work out because I need a "Java" folder… To be able to open the "java.exe" files (I don't have this folder though and I tried to close it for 30 minutes Find)
When I finally found the file "java.exe" (in another folder not the "java" folder but in a folder called "runtime") I then simply used it - it doesn't seem to have worked. Because when I go to the Minecraft launcher I can't find the optifine version and when I try to add it I can't find it anywhere.
could someone tell me what I did wrong or what to do to get Optifine into my Minecraft… And please be nice I've tried my best.
Actually you just have to install java and then run the optifine.jar file and press install
Actually you just have to go to https://optifine.net/.../downloads and download it then start the minecraft louncher and you should be able to find an Optifine version right next to versions. If this is not the case then simply create a new version and select the downloaded optifine version as the version. Eig really not complicated xd
When i installed optifine i also had problems running it with java, i solved it as follows:
In the command line
then enter the following command: java -jar
then pull in the file
make sure there's a .jar at the end
Just try all over again from the beginning. So take a look at a YouTube tutorial, which is very detailed and beginner-friendly, preferably also with the latest versions, and carefully follow every single step. Installing things like Optifine, Mods or Texture Packs in Minecraft is a bit cumbersome for anyone who is not familiar with it at first, but at some point, if you have done it often, you will certainly get the hang of it, so you don't need to be ashamed of it or something - each of us started at some point
You go to optifine.net or something and download the right version for optifine if you want to open the file and there's only strange text, make sure you have winrar on your pc. Otherwise you would just have to be able to install this normally. Just have to make sure in the mc launcher that you are on optifine
I've already tried everything exactly like that but unfortunately everything didn't work out - it's just nowhere to be found.
Yes, I'll just try again let's hope that it works xD I'm getting really crazy… After all, we're the generation of technology haha so I should be able to do something like that
