My PC friend said I just need a new graphics card, I have the GTX160 in there and he said I need the RTX3060 at least, then everything would have to work again.

Minecraft is a very processor-heavy game that makes little use of the graphics card. If you don't have a shader inside, you don't have to change the graphics card.
