Chunk dupe in minecraft?

I wanted to ask whether you can do the chunk dupe in Minecraft with items other than books, e.g. With signs etc?

Does anyone know?

For the people who don't know the chunk dupe

Should be possible with signs if you use Chinese characters that are 4 bytes or more. A 16x16x20 block area full of such signs should be enough. Provided the server doesn't compromise it somehow. It's best to use different characters on all signs.

Note that your client will kick you, you need a hack client that prevents the rendering of signs.
