Is it worth saving?

GuMo,

I would like to upgrade my current PC soon with an FX-6300 and a 1060 6GB and for this I have first made the upgrade of the CPU as well as MB, Ram and power supply.

For this I had actually thought of the 10600K, this in combination with a Z490 Gaming Plus and this https://geizhals.de/...ml?hloc=de, https://geizhals.de/...ml?hloc=de and the https://geizhals.de/...ml?hloc=de. But I was then strongly recommended to upgrade to a 5600x, which I then thought of in combination with a B550 Gaming Plus and the cooler that came with it.

The problem now is that I would have to wait a good 3 months longer to buy the 5600x, but I currently have short FPS drops with Valorant and Minecraft 1.16.4 also runs at 40 FPS.

So I would like to hear your opinion on whether these 3 months longer savings would really be worth it?

It greets you

a confused one

PS: Please don't answer with: "You have to know that yourself", because I don't know

Then buy an R5 3600, which is on par with the i5 and upgrade when the switch to the 6000 generation comes. It will then no longer fit on your board, because a new socket must be here, due to DDR5, among other things

The R5 5600x is of course a lot more potent than the 3600 and all times than the i5

Is just a question of money

With graphics cards you pay moon prices anyway and to replace the GTX1060 you have to at least go for an RTX3060Ti or an RX6700XT

Le

In the games mentioned, only the outdated AMD FX 6300 should be the massive drag.

On a Core i5-10600K or AMD Ryzen 5-3600, the games should run much smoother and about a factor of 2 higher FPS level on the GTX 1060, if you then fine-tune the graphics settings of the individual games for the FPS optimum.

The 1060 stays in there anyway, but I plan to use the 3060 Ti at more normal prices.

Would you recommend the B550 Gaming Plus for the MB with a 3600?

He

https://geizhals.de/...84506.html

The part is much cheaper to release than I expected.

90 euro cheaper than the 5600X, but just 4% worse. At the same time 15% better than the 10600K. I claim you found your processor.

Se

Does it also work on the Z490 Gaming Plus or do you need a Z590 board?

em

We will no longer experience "normal prices"

For example, the week before last, MSI raised the EVPs for all of its graphics cards by 5-15%. Because of production bottlenecks and also delivery problems with raw materials. And if a large manufacturer like MSI gives the latter as a reason, then you should know what the hour has struck for IT.

For a new AMD system, I would definitely recommend a B550.
Whether MSI or another manufacturer. It's a "matter of belief". Personally, I haven't had anything for MSI in terms of motherboards, too much trouble with them over the years.

He

Only after a BIOS update and for that you would first need a 10000 CPU. So you effectively only have a Z590 or a mainboard where you can update the BIOS without a CPU, which in turn are significantly more expensive.

Se

Which Z590 board or Z490 (with this feature) would you recommend?

He

Any, none of them is bad. I don't really have an overview now, so I don't want to recommend exactly one to you.

Se

How could I recognize or filter (curmudgeon) whether a mainboard supports this function?

He

The function is called USB BIOS Flashback.
