I plan to upgrade my PC and have around 300 euro to 360 euro available.
I play and record mostly Minecraft and do a lot of video and image editing. I would describe my current configuration as very unbalanced and not really useful and consists of:
-A cooler that is mega overkill for my CPU. (Even under load a maximum of 63 degrees, e.g. When rendering and co.)
-The mainboard B85M-G (pretty new but the part is no longer up to date)
-An Intel (R) Core (TM) i5-4460
-NVIDIA GeForce GT 730
-8GB DDR3 RAM (think 1662mhrz or so)
-BeQuiet power supply (300 WATT)
-An ATX tower case with good ventilation
Balanced is something else, but I wanted to ask what I could replace or renew / improve. Or is it better to build a completely new one? I know that PCs are mostly about what you want to do with them:
-Generally able to absorb somewhat
-Video editing
-Image editing
-Minecraft and other games play
I don't expect a hell of a machine because of the budget but I've been typing way too long so I thank you in advance for your help and answer.
If you would just change the graphics card, the CPU and RAM all fit so far… A 1050ti with 4GB would be good and cheap. Lg
Uff so upgrading the cpu is not worthwhile because the base is from the last decade. The only thing that would be worthwhile would be a better graphics unit (maybe one of the rx500 series) and if you upgrade to a better GPU: a better power supply because 300 watts is no longer enough.
The CPU is perfectly adequate for low budget gaming, even if it is a bit outdated.
I would start with the memory. DDR3 is already quite out of date and with 8 GB you won't get very far. Unfortunately, as far as I've seen, you need a new mainboard for this, as the current one doesn't support DDR4.
The GPU is also no longer the latest and should be replaced for better performance.
When it comes to the power supply, you have to see how many watts the new parts need.
A new graphics card is included in the budget. A new power supply unit has to be found. If not available, an SSD. Buy recommendations:
Graphics card: AMD RX 5500XT 8GB
SSD: no matter what
RAM: again the same or 1x 8 GB DDR3 1666 MHz
Power supply: beQuiet System Power 9 400/500 watt
