Moin you!
I have a little problem and I don't know if that's normal.
For example, when I play League of Legends or Minecraft, at least 1 CPU is always at 100%.
I don't know if this is normal and how I can deactivate it in Norton.
Hope you can help me and btw happy new year!
Is normal
1 CPU?
You mean a core is always at full load then it's normal.
Or do you think your CPU is at full load.
Anyway, it is good that means that the game uses all cores and you get the best performance with the components you have.
At least 100% from a CPU
Do you have a PC with 2 cpus?
This can be quite normal depending on the processor. The games will probably only use one core. What the virus scanner (Norton) has to do with it is a mystery to me. It should reduce its activity when programs are open that require a lot of power.
No only 1 cpu but there are 12 cores.
OK. 12 cores wow strong CPU and 24 threads.
Exactly in games like fortnite and apex legends or f1 2020 it is split across all cores, not in Minecraft, Rocket League and LoL. Is it bad for the cpu or has it been optimized so that the games can also be played on poorer cpus?
Was there a new CPU for Christmas?
No, I've been using it for 6 months
What has become of your 2700x?
My 2700x is still installed in the pc. I'm unsettled by the performance warning message that 100% of the core is being used and I do not know whether this is normal.
Where did you get 12 cores or 4 from?
Oh, I got it mixed up, there are only 8 cores… Is that harmful to the CPU or not?
As I can see from another answer, you have a 12 core CPU, which is very good! Depending on the age of the game as well as the optimization by the developer, it is quite possible that only a few CPU cores are used and others are not. This is often the case with games that rely on single-core performance such as League of Legends (or, as you already say, are optimized for consoles / weak PCs). In newer games you should see very well that many cores are being exploited nowadays and therefore better performance can be achieved.
In short: this is normal, this has nothing to do with Norton, although I do not recommend the use of Norton and really advise to use Windows' own Windows Defender.
And do you know how I know that, you have now asked the question for the 5th time.
Okey top! Do you know how I can issue the performance warning message to my AV?
I have no experience with Norton myself, but I found https://support.norton.com/sp/de/de/home/current/solutions/v36700888, maybe that's what you're looking for?
Exactly, that's what I mean.
I'm glad I could help!
There's nothing wrong with it.
Is it also good that everything is used to capacity, that means that everything is well optimized. And have the best performance.
