I would like to host an Ark Survival Evolved server for my friends and myself (on my home server). I have everything ready now except for the port activation. I've done this several times for Minecraft servers, which was relatively easy. Nevertheless, I do not know exactly which ports I have to activate now, because there are too many different options on the Internet, I can no longer see through it. I have already activated two ports (see picture) that are almost always among those that are needed. I have already activated the Windows Firewall. In addition, it can't be because I can join the server via LAN. Do you know what else I need for it or whether I'm doing something wrong?
Regards Nick
So I have found that ARK needs a lot more ports. (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=692129985)
TCP: 25147, 27015-27030, 27036-27037
UDP: 4380, 7777-7778, 25147, 27000-27031, 27036
In addition, it can't be because I can join the server via LAN.
Why can't it be?
I have tried these ports several times and they all work except for port 27000-27031, which says "Invalid entry! There's a conflict with another rule." P.S. I meant that it could not be the Windows Firewall.
This means a port release, is one of the ports in between possibly already released?
Oh I screwed up I think I found a bug
I had a port with UDP that didn't belong there.
Download the "Tcpview" program from Microsoft Sysinternals, which shows you exactly which ports are used UDP and TCP…
The Ark Server needs UDP 2 ports, Steam also needs some and if you use Rcon you also need a TCP port again…
With the above program you get the answers to "which ports"…
The green ones have been opened, the red ones closed and the white ones are active…
