I often see the Minecraft server (Also Popular) have an SRV record despite the standard port. Does it do anything? Does it make the connection faster or why are you doing it?
An srv record is set for domains. Without a port, the server doesn't know what to do with it. It has nothing to do with performance.
Okay thanks but I haven't set an SRV record at all on my domain.
It depends on whether your server can still be accessed with a domain. This is probably not mandatory, unless the standard port changes.
Asked by the way. What do you want to see Does a server have an SRV record? This is not visible from the outside.
I see it through a CloudFlare / Domain Resolver and MCSrvstat.us
Thanks for the info, I didn't know yet. A test with my server, however, showed that you can't make a correct query and also can't see whether a server has an SRV entry. You only see whether the server can be reached at the address you entered and that has nothing to do with an SRV entry.
If you haven't seen it, click on Debug Info
Oky, I didn't see it, no srv is displayed, but that's not true, I have a… So don't laugh reliably and say absolutely nothing
