Is it possible to connect root servers with each other?

Can you connect 2 root servers with each other? To get the double ram and and benefits for eg a Minecraft server network? So that one can join a server on a server from the other root server. If so how?

If you use BungeeCord, you can just host the subservers on the second root server.

Otherwise, nothing comes to mind.
