Mouse Abuse?

I've been doing mouse abuse for about 1 week because I'm pretty good at minecraft. And I wanted to ask if the fingernail comes off the skin during abuse because it feels a bit like that with me! And I'm now quite insecure because a lot of people are doing it and some say the finger goes dead, others say it doesn't work and since the opinions are so clashed I wanted to turn to the good-question community. What do you think?

First of all, a lot of people call it mouse abuse, but that's different. Mouse abuse is to drag the finger from the bottom up, the drag click is exactly the other way around. But no matter what type you use, no, the fingernail will not come off. You're just pulling the skin over the mouse. It also has nothing to do with whether you do it with tape, unless you put the tape over your finger.
