I would fix that with reinstalling Minecraft. Your data on servers will not be lost because they are stored on your UUID.

Have you tried YouTube? On the other hand, I would advise that you play with the Java version. The Java version is becoming more and more worthwhile. PS: If you have Windows 10 version then you should be able to get the Java version for free.
