Minecraft PE blocks split?

I started playing Minecraft PE a couple of days ago, but I'm a bit desperate because I just do not know how to split blocks or just split, so instead of stacking three blocks, have three single blocks. I need help urgently.

Oh and I have an iPhone 6s and play (I think) the latest version of the game.
