Minecraft on mac back to old version patching?

I would love to play Minecraft Beta 1.7.3. Current versions running on my purchased account, only the old ones are not. There always comes

In the launcher you can change the version.

This is possible in the Minecraft Launcher:

Just click on "Installations", then on "New…" and then you can name the installation and choose a Minecraft version. Finally click on "Create" and then on "Play".

If you want to play Pre-Alpha, Alpha or Beta you have to tick the check mark "Historical", so that these versions are also displayed.
