How can I allocate more RAM to minecraft

pr

You will see text in the "JVM Arguments" text box, the first section of which is -Xm1G. Change the "1" to the number of GB you want to use for Minecraft.

You would like this text B. Change to "-Xm4G" to allocate 4 GB RAM to Minecraft.

Edit during installation on more options and then enter any number at -Xmx2G

Open the Mincraft Launcher and click Installations. Select the version you are currently playing and click on the three dots to the right of the version. Press edit and you will find the name, version and game directory. Click on "More Options" below and under JVM arguments you will find -XmX2G far ahead. Now it depends on how much RAM GB you have available. I have 16 GB of RAM and have allocated 5 GB with Forge Mods. In my case I would write -XmX5G (instead of 2 a 5).

Remember, never allocate more than half of the maximum you have available. I.e. If you have 8 GB, allocate a maximum of 4 GB.

ly

Not necessarily any number…

va

Yes smaller than the ram you have in the pc

ly

Not everyone knows. Better to write before the questioner gets problems without knowledge:-)

va

In an emergency you can download more ram via your Wi-Fi cable from the https://downloadmoreram.com/ page

Co

Why not anymore?

Co

Then spawns a new bar or something

ly

Now I don't know how this should work, downloading hardware from the Internet, but okay, if you want to try it… RAM is a PC component that you don't even download…

ly

Yes, an additional one just appears on your mainboard xD

va

That's exactly what happens but you need a spawner and a ram spawnegg

ly

I do not fully understand the question. Not more than half of your own RAM, right? Please write more directly.

Co

Yes exactly. Why shouldn't you select more than half what would happen then? And how much would minecraft improve if I upgraded to 5GB? Still have default

ly

I don't know how far it will improve Vanilla Minecraft, but increasing the GB is an option if you play the game with mods because at some point the game will run out of memory and it will be fatal…

Your computer also requires a certain amount of memory and if you set the RAM higher than half, it can happen that your PC slows down the background processes, but this can backfire and would even slow down your game completely.

If you have too little memory to operate the computer sensibly, the scenario just described occurs.

Therefore: Be on the safe side and never give more than half a game.

General question, how much GB RAM have you installed in your PC?

Co

32ddr4.

Sa

And NEVER allocate too much RAM to Minecraft. Too much is not good either. Only as much as you need. 2GB is sufficient by default.

ly

32 GB ddr4? That is much. Then you can of course add 16, which I don't recommend. Minecraft will never need that much. It doesn't improve performance. So just NOT more than 6 GB. You won't need more anyway

Co

Yes, something is a lot but I like power ^^ didn't want to go below 3600mhz.
