I would like to buy a laptop for playing Minecraft.
Do you think it makes sense to buy a used one? Or should you rather buy a brand new one? (Pro / Con arguments)
If someone has good laptops to play games like Minecraft knows it would be nice if you can write that.
Doesn't make much sense because usable Notebkooks cost around 350 euro NEW.
330 euro, that's enough
If you really only want to play Minecraft it can also be used. The main thing was that he had a full reset.
Generally, however, would rather buy a new one.
Better new, you have a guarantee.
14 days right of return.
So used najja I do not know, and especially if I can recommend a gaming laptop at all. Because I have experienced that the laptop graphics card break more often than on a desktop PC like this video:
And especially with used gaming laptops there's a greater risk that the graphics card will either not work for long or not at all.
You will probably pay 500 euro for a GTX760, or even more, mostly more. Of course, the condition of the devices can never be determined exactly. But it can work and be fun for a few more years and still offers top performance. Only below should you only go if you really don't want to play anything other than Minecraft.
You can get a GT1650 with modern Ryzen CPU, SSD, 8GB RAM brand new for 700 euro. So you can play almost everything in good quality, have short loading times and a fast system overall.
That should be the yardstick. A used 400 euro notebook can quickly offer only 1/4 of the performance. There are all sorts of devices, such as dual cores with Intel Integrated Graphics and 2 or 4GB RAM. Even Minecraft can no longer be fun.
If you really only want to play Minecraft, you can of course also buy for less than 500 euro. But make sure that you have more than 4GB RAM and an SSD, otherwise daily use becomes a test of patience because hard drives are often the bottleneck and are completely overloaded with memory-hungry Windows 8/10 installations.
I'm just assuming that you don't want to wait 10 minutes for Minecraft to load and then still be able to play on battery power for 2 hours in 20 FPS or lower resolution. Batteries are usually Quite weak after a few years and are often of lower capacity anyway in older devices. In addition, an old system can quickly have the same power consumption for significantly less performance.
It makes the most sense to wait for a good offer, look for it and pay attention to the factors 8GB RAM, SSD and dedicated Nvidia GPU with a 6 in the name. A 6 at the end of the name. So not 1650 but 1660, not 1050 but 1060, not 950 but 960.
There are also 7 and 8 series. Anything below 5 is out of the question.
Ie. That of course you can still play Minecraft with a 5er Nvidia, but price performance is just not that good. You might also like to play something different when you are already buying a notebook?
Integrated graphics from AMD (Ryzen) can work, but you will not get anything reasonable, has only recently been installed properly.
They are new and cheap and would be quite suitable for your case. (See other answer for around 400 euro new).
So, you can make used, but you should at least pay a little attention to the components used. Integrated graphics from Intel is still a no go. Coupled with normal HDD and little RAM, you will have little fun with it.
And there's simply a lot of junk on the used market where you pay 50 less but get a really bad P / L ratio. So you will be very quickly dissatisfied, the device may fail, the battery will run down, Windows will not run properly (browser takes 1 minute to open, etc.) …
Pay attention to the key data given above. SSD, 8GB, Nvidia GPU at least "5".
Absolute pain limit 4GB and HDD with 1050/950. Underneath fingers, that is not at all, because even streaming video is not fun, or is only what people who use Linux or are very patient, have precise procedures. Even a window change can completely "utilize" such a system due to a lack of working memory and make it unresponsive for 1 minute. Everything already had. Maybe a long answer, but maybe it will help you.
