Which video game were you really disappointed with?

I would be interested. Maybe with justification.

For my part, I was very disappointed with Steam World Dig. I just imagined it to be completely different. You just dig yourself down all the time and go into these caves and that's it. Canceled it after 20 minutes.

Or of course the classic: No Mans Sky where you were lied to from front to back and only offered extremely boring and monotonous gameplay in the long run. Gave updates, but lost interest in them a long time ago.

Then there was Dragon Quest Builders 2, which I just bought without any prior knowledge. I was expecting a Minecraft-esque game, which it is in a way. But it just doesn't have the freedom Minecraft has. In my opinion you are too tied to the story. This means that you have to orientate yourself according to this and the urge to explore disappears completely. But it also contributes to the fact that it is hardly rewarding to go anywhere that is not the main playground.

Two worlds 2.

But only for the reason that it was not playable on the PS3 at the time due to various game problems.

Or the add-on for Oblivion (Shivering islands) also for the PS3, which was not playable due to bugs - I almost cried.

Me

The Last of Us Part II…

Really had high hopes for the game. The first half was really good too, but the second half was just terrible.

Don't get me wrong: The game is awesome in terms of play and graphics, but anyone who loves the story and the characters of the first part as much as I do was more than disappointed with Part II and even too angry.

Kingdom Hearts 3

I was really looking forward to this part, but the gameplay was so boring and repetitive and the worlds empty and one-dimensional, the Disney world stories played not even remotely original that the main story, which was really exciting for me, had these shortcomings in this part I couldn't make up for it anymore.

Oh, I also recently started the Kingdom Hearts franchise and am currently on ReChain of Memorys. What is your favorite part?

I really liked part 2. I liked the entanglements in it. Birth by Sleep is my number 2.

I didn't play Kingdom Hearts Coded, nor did I play the mobile game.

ju

Was neither disappointed nor angry or something ^^ And yes, I played the first part several times.

OK thank you. Find the series awesome so far anyway.

Two pieces that I downloaded a few months ago

Age of empire 3 definitive: the game mechanics are so easy. There's no challenge

Wolfpack: is an uboot simulator similar to silent hunter, with the difference that you play with 5 people in co-op. It takes forever for something to happen. You can easily spend 20 minutes just tracking down an enemy. There's no action at all, the tasks as a single crew member are also very simple.

Layton's Mystery Journey - Katrielle and the Millionaires' Conspiracy (what a short and sweet title)

If there's one game that I hate it is this. I find the existence of this title an insult to any Layton fan.

What made the Layton series stand out were exciting mystery stories, tricky puzzles and the charismatic professor Layton himself. I can cope with the fact that the professor in LMJ was replaced by his daughter, even if she has neither charisma nor depth of character. The puzzles are still there, even if I found them less convincing in this part. But what I abysmally loathe is the story. I can hardly put it into words, so I'll just explain what happens in the first case:

Big Ben's clock hands disappeared overnight! What exactly happened? Was it a spectacular theft? No. A mechanic accidentally damaged the hands and to cover up his mistake he had his brother (who is a baker) bake replicas of cakes for him. However, the cake hands were eaten by birds, which is why the hands were suddenly no longer there.

Funny little story. But when the intention was to write a mystery story that was even remotely serious (like every previous Layton game), the developers failed so incredibly miserably that I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Every case (with the exception of the final case, which brings at least a touch of quality to the game) is either extremely predictable and boring, or has an absurd resolution that lacks any logic.

LMJ is one of the few games (possibly the only one) that I played through only to regret wasting my time on it.

Unfortunately, I've only played Professor Layton and the Legacy of Aslant so far. Fantastic game and will probably get the other parts for me soon too. When solving puzzles, you always had this aha! Effect.

But then I played a demo of Layton's Mystery Journey - Katrielle and the Millionaires' Conspiracy on the App Store. I found it really boring and I'm glad I didn't buy the game. To be honest, I wasn't really expecting anything either. At first glance it somehow looked as if they wanted to make the game look compulsively modern and bring "fresh" wind into the series. I found the puzzles not necessarily bad, but they are far below the puzzles I knew from the main part.

What is your favorite part anyway?

My favorite Layton title is actually Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. The setting is very atmospheric, the story is interesting, important characters are in my opinion much better written than in other Layton games and the soundtrack is outstanding. There are fewer puzzles and they are easier, but I still found them entertaining. As an Ace Attorney fan, it is a nice bonus for me, as an Ace Attorney fan, to throw yourself into logic battles in court with Phoenix Wright.

In the main row, my favorite is PL and Pandora's Box. I also liked the film PL and the Eternal Diva.
