I go to a ski lodge with my classmate in a week. We wondered if we could play Minecraft in a LAN world if there was no internet connection and no Wi-Fi at the hut! Our plan was to connect our computers with a long cable! But I'm sure it will not be that easy. To which I often heard of "you have to be in the same network", where I come to the question if I can even create a network without a connection Internet, without WLAN, connection for a lankabel in the hut to be connected to the Internet and a Rooter (for WLAN / Internet etc.)!
You need either a router that has no connection, but your two counts connects. Or a crossover cable bowohl I do not know if they still work today
It's right that you have to be in a network. And in your case, it sounds like that would not be possible. Simply connecting both laptops with a LAN cable will not get you there any further. You have to live just 1 week without MC.
That is indeed feasible.
There are 3 ways.
Depending on how many you are, you grab one or more wireless router, plug it into the power and connect each PC to the router, whether by cable or wireless. Then you are all in a local network and you can all play on a Lan world in Minecraft.
Wlan rout similar devices like a network switch go of course also.
Alternatively, you can also take a mobile phone which acts as a wireless router. Many good smartphones have the function of opening a hotspot, e.g. A buddy can scrounge the data volume. But so that the data volume is not directly empty, the person must deactivate their mobile data. The downside is, if too many are connected to the phone it can come to internet laggs on all pc's because cell phones are not designed for that kind of thing.
The 3rd way would be if one has a pc / laptop that has a very good Wi-Fi chip, that he himself makes a hotspot with it. However, the probability is almost 0 that one can. Therefore, there are also USB sticks that make the computer as a network point via Wi-Fi accessible. No, I do not mean a normal Wi-Fi stick.
Modern PCs are now so smart that you do not need a crossover cable. But then only goes without problems with 2 Pc's and not more.
What does the "smart pcs" mean? I think this will require more software or specific mainboards etc
With smart I meant rather modern PC's.
Mine can be e.g. And it is a normal consumer motherboard. (MSI B350m Bazooka socket AM4)
