I would like to play a Minecraft world with my brother. But whenever you enter the port (which comes when you select "open in LAN") in the server menu, it doesn't work. What should I do?
So you both need a LAN cable and then if you have windows you have to deactivate the firewall for the time, then it should work according to my experience, if not write again there are different solutions.

Well, if you want to connect two PCs directly, you need a crossover cable and you have to set up the home network… Then it works.
Crossover cables look like LAN but are wired differently under the plastic.
You don't have to deactivate the firewall but you don't need a LAN but a crossover cable.
However the firewall blocks some processes in most cases, believe it or not.
Just make a free aternos server
Oh, I thought servers would always cost something. Is that legal
Thanks. I thought it works without a cable but apparently not
No Aternos servers do not cost anything and are legal. The only thing stupid is that the server is not permanently on and you have to switch it on every time on the website, but you have to do that with lan
Yes or you make one yourself with port approval and .bat file on windows https://minecraft.fandom.com/de/wiki/Anleitungen/Server_erstellen
And besides, you don't need a crossover cable anymore, the network card really simulates that nowadays.
I would rather not recommend that because it draws a lot of power and it's not that easy
Each his xD
