I have hosted a 4netplayers Minecraft server but I think that when I turn off my PC the server goes off too, so I want to know whether you can do it 24/7 without blatant electricity costs because I also have to sleep while on the other end of the world Canadians play along.
The server should actually stay on even when you turn off your PC. You would only have to leave your PC on if this server were hosted on your own PC. However, since you rent this server for a fee, it is hosted by 4netplayers and their servers should always be on, unless otherwise specified in the contract.

I do not know the provider exactly. But if you really need to leave your PC on, it's better to host the server directly on your own PC. Apart from electricity costs, this is completely free.
Ma can set somewhere in the server settings that the server will stop as soon as the last player logs out…
