I'm currently playing Minecraft on a PC and have only just started. I saw on Youtubers that they opened a map… How does it work?
So how open?

If you think that they just look at a map, now you can easily do it with a map. Otherwise there are plugins on servers or mods.
So how can you open a map you have in your hand
Either the map item or a mod
Well, with the people I saw that it works without it. That's why I'm asking. With the card in the game, I'm aware of that

Or you use Badlion Client. You have to download that and then you can open the map in the badlion settings.
You can also put maps in picture frames, then you have a map on the wall if you mean that. Otherwise you can only do this by picking up the map and looking down. If you mean a large map over the entire screen or a mini map in a corner then this is a mod.
